Prosper is legit but they do not guarantee that you will get a loan and the process takes a couple of weeks.
Beyond friends and family and your local bank, there are probably no legit lenders out there.....especially on the internet.

You will pay horrible interest on a loan of this type!
Can you think of an alternative way to pay for the item you need the money for?
I provide financial counseling for over 450 people a year, and this type of loan sets many people up to fail miserably.
