well,in that case, she just might say yes.Just start off by telling them for example:
SON:mom remember when i asked you about can i audition for t.v when i was younger???
MOM:Yea son,what about that???
SON:Well,im now ready and older to audition for shows and be on television, and i was wondering can you take me to auditions
MOM:sure son,i'll support your dreams, just follow your heart!

Well first off you should know that if you are deciding "what the heck i'll be an actress" then you should stop right there. And also if you just want to be on TV for the sake of premeirs and being on tv and fame then stop right there.
Acting is serious hard work. It will take up all of your time, dedication, patience, and your passion for the art. If you don't love it....if you can live without acting then don't even attempt to act on tv. I'm tired of people saying they want to act on a whim. It's hard hard hard hard hard work and you will get premature greys from it. JK but seriously.....
just because you say you want to audition for tv doesn't mean that
A) you will actually get on tv
and
B) it doesn't mean that you have talent
(i'm sure you do but in the case of my rant....)
However, if you are serious about acting then here are the steps one would have to take:
1) First it is much more beneficial to you to have an agent. Get some headshots done, make up a resume, and start looking for agents
Agents find the auditions, it is up to you to make the best of them
As for the best way to tell you parents. Well if you are serious about acting, like DIE HARD SERIOUS then you need to sit your parents down and explain to them how much acting means to you and all that jazz. They need to take you seriously to take your passion for acting seriously.

If you are older, ask them like you asked us. Just lay it out there -- all they can say is no. What makes you think you are ready to audition and how did you think you were going to get one? There are tens of thousands of experienced kids with gobs of talent and good looks trying to get auditions. Can you compete with them? If you can, I bet your Mom would know it.

do plays and stuff around you city and then once you build up a resume, ask your mom if you can submit your resume and try to get an agent. and the agent will hook you up with the auditions
