I start by buying anything but an IPod. That way when people say "Is that an I-Pod?" I just say "naw, it's a Zen" and they look at me like I was from the poor side of the tracks. But hey, 30GB and $100.00 less, I'M HAPPY.

My iPod is like my child, for it to be stolen I'd probably put out a missing child alert. Because I paid $400 dollars for it I feel an attachment to it so I go to the next level so it's not stolen. First I always keep it in my sight, every hour or so I make sure I know where it is and that it is still there. I don't take it to places where I might forget it. Another thing to do is buy different earphones. There have been cases where thieves know who has an iPod by who has the signature headphones hanging out of their ear. You can also put a security lock on your iPod but this will just prevent it from being listened to by thieves they can still take it. But the best advice is to only take it places when it is completely necessary and when you do take it with you make sure you know where it is. Don't let people borrow it because since they didn't pay for it they might not find it as valuable. Just remember how much you paid for it, that should help you in remembering how valuable it is to you. Hope that helps!

Keeping it in your backpack or pocket is the best strategy. I think some of them have security codes you can set too, but I never thought it was worth the inconvenience. Of course, I'm a college student and I don't carry the ipod every day. People in high school may be more likely to steal things like that. Good night!

I bought different headphones, one of the tell-tail signs of an ipod are the white earbuds. Then I always know where it is, either in my hand or my pocket. Never leave it unattended anywhere.

don't leave it unattended. don't leave it out in plain view in your vehicle.
don't lend it to ppl or leave it out at a party where there are tons of ppl
keep it on your person if you are out and about
