Democrats and Republicans can become rich even while in office and can become richer after leaving office.
Ordinary US Citizens do NOT have that luxury.

Condoleezza Rice has many credentials but has not used them properly. She also does not have the integrity of Colin Powell who lost it since he never questioned the motives for war against Iraq and about the 9-11 Commission and how they did a questionable investigation.
Neither give protections to working people.
Even high level managers can be fired for little stuff.

I don't think you would see any real cooperation from the 2 extreme factions in Congress, but he would probably appeal somewhat to the moderates of both parties. In the end though both sides would do whatever they could to undermine his authority. They would want to try and reinforce the appearance that voting for independent candidates is useless.

Unfortunately, Democrats and Republicans are working together. When it comes to spending your money they could not agree with eachother more.
