When this happens to me, it's because the bobbin thread has come out of the case. Make sure your bobbin goes into the case so that the thread is tailing off into your left hand. Then make sure you get the thread tail all the way into the slot before you snap the bobbin case into the machine. Clean the hook race (where the bobbin case goes into the machine) and the feed dogs every time you refill a bobbin. I use a small paintbrush.

make sure you have a brand new needle appropriate for your fabric . Open the bobbin case, take out the bobbin and clean out any lint or dust that has accumulated in there. try a few stitches on a piece of your fabric , if it still wants to jam you may have to adjust your tension. Hope this helps.

Also, make sure that you always hold the tails out of the way of the needle area, especially when first starting to sew. If you don't, the tails will get pulled down into the bobbin area, get all tangled up, and freeze the machine.

(That was the solution for me when it kept happening anyway).

Good luck,

Make sure you have everything threaded correctly first.

If that doesn't fix the problem you might try talking apart as much of the bobbin casing as you can and cleaning out any lint or dust in there. My machine is temperamental and if the bobbin case is dirty the thread catches.

Here's what I do when this happens... in this order first re-thread your machine, then try a new needle in a size appropriate to your thread, then a newly wound bobbin, then clean and oil your machine... these are cumuative steps. if you still have this problem your machine needs some servicing which would come in under $100.00 but worth it for fewer jams.

Check and see if the bobbin thread is wound tightly enough. Sometimes if there is too much play, it will do that. The thread around the bobbin should be firm if you squeeze it.

Mine did that too...I just completely re-threaded it and changed the tension.
