The Japanese history books cover WW II in about half a page. The reason for their conflict with the US is that we interfered with their trading for raw materials with the people of Southeast Asia (the ones that they had conquered). Pearl Harbor is not denied. It is ignored. As it turned out, the attack was in violation of the Bushido Code (the attack occurred before the declaration of war was presented) so they do not like to mention it. The dropping of the A-bomb is stated as being improper and unfair despite the fact that recently declassified documents indicate that Japan was only months away from its own operational A-bomb and just might have detonated a test bomb in what is now North Korea.

That is completey untrue and downright ludicrous. The Japanese teach history the way it happened. They may put a different spin on history, which can be said of even individual people, but by no means do they teach that the atomic bomb was unprovoked and that Pearl Harbor never happened.

Actually No. Never heard that kind of story.
Check Hiroshima and Nagasaki, there are historical exhibition pavilions about A-bomb.
And Japan declared war ahead of time. The US had already broken and read Japanese cryptograph called PURPLE. But Washing ton D.C. didn't disclose the fact.
The records and researchs exist as a document in either America or Japan.
MICHAEL R. You are wrong.

That is not true but what the japanese have never done is given reparations to the tortured and beaten pow's or the many other war crimes that they commited, theyve never even admitted any of this and a lot of ex pow's are very angered by there lack of an apology.

It is not true; the Japanese are aware of both events, however, they are a very proud people and have mixed emotions regarding all aspects of World War Two. It is impossible to group all Japanese sentiment into "a group." 1) They are aware of the events 2) They have various opinions about all aspects of the War

properly i don't know. aliens might have invaded for all all of us know. you won't be in a position to apply a "what if" in history, as actually something might have happened yet my wager is that Japan and united states of america of america might build up and at last if Britain started out to fall or China, united states of america of america might have stepped in. yet i think of if that happened, we'd declare conflict on Germany first, not Japan

it just goes to show you that one country change history to their own way. if pearl harbor never happen why do we have a number of battle ships sunk in pearl harbor bay and why did the american govt. lock up all the japanese people in our country during WWII. ask the Japanese govt. why they our not allowed to build up their military with ships, tanks, aircraft and subs.

The Japanese have had difficulties accepting certain segments of history, i.e. The rape of Nanking, comfort women, Bataan death march, among others, but I've never heard of the two you mention being taught.
