Elvis for sure. He was the man that got music rolling in the fifties. He had the looks, the charisma and the voice. Everybody else just followed in his shoes, but had no chance of reaching his status.
But Ricky Nelson was good as Sam Phillips the man who first recorded Elvis said " Most rockers rocked pretty good, including those on Sun Records like Elvis, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee. But a little ol' boy Ricky Nelson came on to the TV screen and really got right in it in a really understanding way but believe me, he really got his message over. He was probably one of the most fluid sounding rockers that could give you a good rocker and make it sound like a ballad......but make you wanna feet wanna move and for that reason, we're all the better for hearing Ricky Nelson".
I won't disagree with that.

Both were good! The only difference is that Elvis shocked the world because back in the 50s, shaking your hips was not allowed. That's why he was and still is the most famous and the best entertainer who ever lived, but if Ricky were to think about hip shaking before Elvis, then Ricky probably would beat Elvis.
