I have this lawn mower that has a problem staying running, after i prime it 3/4 times it turns on then after only a few seconds it turns off. I changed the spark plug and it seems to be passing sparks fine. I thinks its the carburetor that is not passing gas. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it and if i were to take off the caburetor would it be a hasle to put it back on. The lawn mower is a weed eater 4.75hp and i've only had it for about a year.

Get some carb cleaner spray. take the bowl off the carb and give the carb a good spray. Look at the bowl and see if you have any build up in the bowl. Clean that out as well and put it back together. In the off season, make sure you run the engine out of gas.

It is an easy job. Watch how the linkage to the carburator goes so you get it back on correctly. Take a digital picture of it before you take it apart. The carb itself is simple and the rebuild kit will have diagrams and instructions. Just take the model number of the engine to the small engine repair shop and get a rebuild kit.

You have done your homework on this problem! Congrats! I don't know which engine you have but for sure the carb is clogged and must be taken apart, cleaned thoroughly, and reassembled.
If this is your first time 'carbing' you will want to ask your friends and neighbors if they know how, and watch them very closely! Modern carbs are simpler than they used to be (less internal parts, and no adjustments) so learn all they can show you, and you will be set every spring for life!!

Before you take the carburetor off, check the air filter.

It sounds like the carb. could be a briggs motor, check around and find a lawnmower repair man in your area. or see if you can find a rebuild kit for that carb. it may be the diaphram

Check the air filter first! Put a little starting fluid in the filter if it's clean and see it it starts.

You should still have a warranty. What about your owners manual ? Do they have a 1-800-number you can call ?
