1) run your anti virus and spyware etc
2)Do a disk clean up
3)check of your comp requires a disk defragmentation.if so do it.
4)delete all the unnecessary programms that you dont use.
5)check which programes are present during start up.. go to widows-run-msconfig--last tab startup. and uncheck the unnecessary programs.
6)check which programs are running in the background. open the command window and type services.msc and then right click on the one which you dont want to run in the background and opt for manual rather than automatic.
CAUTION:before going ahead with steps 5 and 6 dont forget to carefully get rid of programs .If you dont know the process of any program then google it and find out what thats for and then follow the steps.

First of all, have you defragmented the hard drive lately? If that doesn't help, you might try adding more memory. I have an emachine and I doubled mine and it was only about 5 months old at the time and that was helpful. Another thing, if you have photos or do a lot of downloading that takes up memory. If you don't have the extra money to buy the memory, you could go to Control Panel, click on removing software and eliminate some programs that you don't use anymore.

When was the last time that you deleted, history, temporary internet files and cookies? Open Internet Explorer (IE) and click on "Tools" near the top right! Then click on "Internet Options" selection near or on the bottom. On the "General" tab, you can delete these things! Close IE! When you are ready you may open a browser and hopefully it will be faster now.
