As far as i've known ginger is safe for pregnancy. There are ginger pops and all kind of similar items from ginger for morning sickness on the market. I do know green tea is iffy during pregnancy due to it binding with the folic acid in your system which limits how much reaches the baby.

Small amounts of fresh ginger are probably okay, but large amounts of ginger may contribute to contractions of the uterus, and this may be more pronounced in women who have had a miscarriage. Ginger seems to stimulate circulation in the pelvis and is sometimes used to bring on a menstrual period. One or two cups of ginger tea a day is probably fine, although for a woman who has suffered miscarriages I would recommend avoiding it altogether in the first trimester.

yes dear friend... ginger is not to be taken in a heavy quantity like in a tea. the main raeson they tell why it should be avoided during pregnancy particularly first trimester is because it is hot(heat ). so it dangerous. It has a similar story that a pineapple or papaya has got towards early pregnancy.
Instead u can try a glass of orange juice. That really helps because of the tang it has.
All the best :)

if it's made from fresh ginger root, it's fine, even recommended for morning sickness.
