Not able to be separated. Usually used when referring to two people who are close friends and spend a LOT of time together.

It means not able to be separated as in the following sentences:
"John and Amy were inseparable for most of their sophomore year, but now they have other interests." and "Love and marriage are inseparable." Remember the song, "Love and marriage, love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage..."

It is used to describe a couple that is so close together, it would be impossible for them to come apart, a bond that can't be broken. You see this all the time with best friends, and couples deeply in love.
