I thought the first half was pretty boring, and the rest was kind of contrived. It was really dumb where the last horcrux was hidden, and the answers to a lot of the secrets seemed insubstantial. Also the "charm" that filled the first 4 seemed to be gone. Rowling also doesn't seem to do a very good job with fight scenes The book had a lot of them, and I didn't think they were well written. But mostly I didn't like it because the plot seemed contrived, didn't anybody else notice this? Why does everybody like it so much? In my opinion, the first 4 were much better.

I, too was disappointed with the 7th book. It WAS boring up until the Battle for Hogwarts chapter. The epilogue was pretty predictable. I was kinda hoping Harry would die(and not come back alive).

The Prisoner of Azkaban is still my favorite. I think a lot of people are still really excited about the new book, it's being the end of the series and all. I did like it a lot, but at times it felt a bit tedious. Sort of the second half of The Two Towers, when there was lots of walking around and not very much happening. That whole traveling to different places in the forest section felt a bit like that.

That's your opinion, but that doesn't mean its right. I liked this book the best because I thought that it was the most realistic and the characters were much more mature. There was none of that fluff where they pretend everything is okay during most of the book and then suddenly at the end they realize things are going on in the outside.

Just my opinion, and I loved it!

i agree with you on the first half of the book is boring
until it get to the very end of the book
kinda disappointed that the fight scene was only like 7-8 pages long between voldemort and harry
i guess what causes all the buzz is that it's the LAST one!!!!
so....
and i like the 1st book and the 3rd one better than any of the others

I didn't care for all the sitting around the trio did in the beginning, but the Battle of Hogwarts rocked, and Rowling hit on some very profound points in the end. I was very moved.

yeah i totally agree with you on liking the first 4. they were the "jolly books" the ones where harry potter was actually happy. however, my favorite was the 4th book because it had a lot of adventure. i think the 7th book is a lot of favorites for others because it answered all the unknown questions. it answered questions about snape, dumbledore's past, the search for horcruxes, and etc. i really liked the goblet of fire because it actually had a lot of adventuree

Because it gives closure to an amazing series. It ends well, and the ends are tied up, and it's just written really well. Kudos to Rowling for finishing well.

people were hysterical about it before they even saw the cover. it's because it's the last book in this collection. and because the author said one of the main characters dies in this book. everyone wanted to know who and how the character would die.
