I have a ten gallon tank in my bedroom with 1 african dwarf frog, 1 catfish, 1 algae eater, and 3 fish. Are there any puffer fish that would be suitable for this setup? I heard they are agressive. I also want one that is not that expensive. Thanks!

Your tank is already over stocked with 5 fish and frog. Most likely the puffer would terrorize and kill the other fish. They are cute, but don't let their looks fool you.
Some puffers also require brackish water, which your catfish and algae eater wouldn't tolerate.
What exactly are the fish you have now?

Puffers are aggressive fish that will nip the fins of others in the tank, and these really should be kept in a tank of their own. Most also get too large for a 10 gallon.

If you're considering getting one, research the type first. Some need to have salt in their water (the amount varies by species), they're sensitive to ammonia and nitrite, so they shouldn't be put in a new tank, and they have special diet needs. There are freshwater puffer fish, such as the Indian Dwarf Puffer, but don't let the name fool you. These fish still require 30 gallons of water alone, so you cannot put a fish as large as a puffer in a small 10 gallon tank, even if it were the only fish in there, let alone with 5 other fish in a tank which is already overstocked.

No, they will attack your other fish. Get a cheap 10 gallon starter kit aquarium. Dwarf Puffer Fish are small and are great ones to start out with. I have one and he is my favorite fish. I spend more time with him than all my others combined.

No, even the pea puffer will drive you crazy. Puffers should always have a tank to themselves unless you have years of fishkeeping experience.

yeah my dwarf puffer ate my tetras but you can have loaches
, ghostshrimps, freshwater crabs and more dwarf puffers xD Dwarf puffers are best in a species setup and needs lots of care because they hurt eachother and they don't have an outer scale so they can die frolm ammonia real fast xD

I would forget about the puffers and get more neon's as they are a schooling fish and will do better in a group. Also are you aware your fruit loop http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/beginnerinfo/a/paintedfish.htm tetras is dyed which isn't a humane practice.
