So I'm guessing you're Independently Wealthy...Like W or Kerry...And you have the best health care you can afford...GOOD FOR YOU....Wanna help out a brother??
The Insurance Companies will NOT insure me because I came down with MDS ( Look it Up ) between providers, so Now I have assistance to the tune of over 130 bucks daily, and an additional 200 once a week!!
Thank goodness SOMEONE is thinking about Universal Health Care!! If we pay into it, then the Med. Cos. Would receive their research $$$ from our fund, and my Pills would cost 10 bucks a day....instead of over ONE HUNDRED!!
Republicans keep blocking good ideas, and Dems keep pushing them...soon it's gonna happen...so stay an independent, and stand for little....good for you!!

I am extremely happy your view is only one of many. I would also like to know where you got that statistic. According to the United States Department of Health Human Services for the years 1996 through 2003, there were a little over 4 million people who received assistance. See here:
http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/ofa/annualreport7/Appendix/TANF_7th_Report_Appendix_chap01.pdf
That is a little over 1% of our 300 million population. Although this is only people on TANF, it is a far cry from the 45% you drew out of the air.
Another thing I take issue with is your contention that socialism and fascism are the same thing. For your enlightenment the definition of fascism is listed below:
fas·cism
NOUN:
often Fascism
A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
Oppressive, dictatorial control.
That sounds a bit more like the government we have under the Bush regime. I am sure both conservatives and liberals wish you a fond adieu.

Wow, maybe you should get educated some day. Are you aware the "socialist" advances of the Democratic Party include the 8 hour work day and the 5 day work week. Yeah, it's true! They also had this fascist idea called "overtime", which keeps workers from being exploited by their employers (as they were during the early 20th century).
I'll stop my sarcasm now. You get the point (maybe). From social security to the emergence of American military power, Democrats have made this country as great as it is today, and there has always been ignorant Republicans standing in our way.
Your kind is irrelevant now. Bush's glory days our over. Cry in your beer, sap.

Welfare being shameful? Highly unlikely the oil companies would share your view. McDonalds and Home Depot would argue they need government handouts also.
If only a few big macs and a pair of happy meals, along with a gallon or two of paint, one family per week, could keep these businesses afloat.
Well..., yes it can,...but that's besides the point...

No, in fact I am a strong Liberal. I am pro-gay marriage, pro- affirmative action, and pro-abortion (in certain cases).
If you think that the left is out there, just think of us as visionaries. And I would like to point out that the far right side of the spectrum has so messed up morals that you wouldn't believe.
Edit~
Jeremy R: "Liberals are condoning the Murder of little unborn children, and they also condone the Sodomized lifestyle."
Sodomized lifestyle, my ***. If God hated gays, there wouldn't be any in the world. Case Closed.

If what you say is true and you truly are an independent........I salute you. However, you don't seem to paint neo-cons with the same brush you're painting liberals with so I think in truth you're one of the Bush Babies on here trying to stir up hate and discontent.
I will say this to you and the Bush Babies, you better hope the liberals stick around. If they don't you end up with one party in power and no choice, even if you want one. You will end up with dictatorship. My friend, we must have both, ying and yang, right and left, dark and light. In a proper government both are required so they can reach common ground that is neither too far left or too far right. If you will but use your head, all this makes sense.

Liberalism and fascism are about as opposite as they can possibly be. Try buying a clue before you sound like an idiot again.

Does anyone even know what liberal means anymore? It's not socialism, or aligned with a political party. In fact, the writers of the Constitution would be considered liberal, in that they were concerned about individual liberty above all things.
