The mystery of SHC was supposedly solved... in every case there was an external ignition source (whether discovered on-scene, or not), which ignited clothing, which then started melting body fat, which absorbed into the clothing, creating a vicious cycle "wick effect." This was demonstrated on test pigs quite effectively, but admittedly it happened over the course of an hour or more.
Clearly, the human body contains enough potential energy to burn itself to small cinders, but the important question is whether this energy, through some sort of unusual external or internal event, can be released within a span of a second or two.

Yo whaddup, buttercup. You know by starting a question with "do you know anyone," that implies the as-yet unknown subject of the question is a human. When you say "spontaneously human combusted," the word "human" is redundant, and is poor grammar when not redundant. Just my thoughts. To answer your question: yes, my friend Ben spontaneously combusts all the time.

Not personally, but Napoleon apparently died as a result of SHC. I think a leg was all that was left?
