and what is usually the psychological background of this behaviour?
i am a bit lost and not used to deal with people yelling and shouting - but i got to sort out this situation i have with a person who is like that.

Tell her/him when you calm down we will talk ,and stick to it.
I found out that controlling people yell a lot.

just tell them, "I'm not deaf" OR "I'm standing RiGHT in front of you, there's no need to bust my eardrums." That usually gets people to quiet down.
If that doesn't work, then ignore them completely until they're ready to talk to you. (Without shouting!) They'll get the point.

I hate that myself. I just put my hands over my ears and tell them to stop yelling and I will listen to them. MAYBE.

Video tape them and tell them if they don't stop shouting you're going to put them on You Tube.com
