Inserting my voice over a song?

Question

I'm making a gift for my boyfriend and I want to add a two second clip of my voice into a song. I don't just want stick it in, I want the music to continue so it's not out of place in the song. I've tried fooling around with my computer and the programs that it came with, but I do anything but cut and paste... at least that's all that I can figure out. Any ideas?

That takes software to record over the music.
Only ones I know are expensive, such as CoolEditPro.
