sorry to seem to blunt but I have been ill for the last 12 years of life and undergone many surgeries and the doctors even wanted be to be on disability. But I believe there is a job for everyone even with limatations. Before all the damage occurred in the begining stage of my disease i did a lot lof construction but now im doing data entry. People like you make us look bad. I was able to handle a marriage, i also have a ministry and street preach plus have a job when im not suppose to do any of these things. Every day i feel miserable and in agony but i dont believe in hand outs and refuse to take prescription drugs. I put my faith in god and uses me as a testimony to show others how to cope and tell them the good news of his kingdom.

There's a book by Matthew Leskow, if I'm spelling it right, that you can purchase on amazon or even at your local bookstore. The library would be even better because not only should they have a copy of the book you can copy on a copy machine for like 10 cents a page but also libraries have a lot of forms you need and addresses for where you sent your grant request to. Additionally the librarian can be in many cases very helpful.

The disability section 8 housing program has like a ten year waiting list in some cases before you are approved. Getting a government grant or loan based on a provable disability is completely different than public housing programs.

EDIT: It's actually Matthew Lesko, with no w on the end despite being pronounced with it. The name of the book is How To Write and Get a Government Grant, though he has written several dozen other books on obtaining money from the government. They want some 80 bucks for it but that is ridiculous since lower down on the screen you can get one used for three bucks. Same book.

I'm sorry to tell you the sad truth but many disabled people find themselves on disability such as yourself (and to my knowledge can pay anything between $100-$623 and you can only have $2,500 at a time while on disability. You just can't get a legitimate loan for $200,000 or a legitimate grant to get a house. You'll just have to deal with an apartment, trailer, duplex, etc.

If you have a family get hold of Habitat for Humanity. There are no grants for the disabled to buy housing, what you need to do first is get benefits, without them you cant pay utility bills or upkeep on a place that you own.

Do you have enough medical information to support a disability claim?

I have to say, I dont really think this person is disabled, I think its a "trick" question, someone started a rumour about how cushy the disabled have it and this little troll wants to check it out.

I'm so happy none of you mentioned the BMW the govt bought every disabled person last year -- :-) She'd want one of those too.

When you find out, let me know!!!!! Why don't you have disability benefits? Could you work part time on the computer? Would you consider renting a room from someone instead of buying a house? How would you maintain it? I'm renting a house & have 2 roomies & have to hire a guy to cut the grass.

You should probably apply for SSI and get a social worker to help you. There's almost no way there's a $200,000 grant for a house.

not possible- try social services/ or public housing- you could get approved for a monthly housing allowane. (usually goes towards a rental!)

There isn't enough taxpayer money to provide every disabled person with a housing grant-

- you CAN work from home for some side income- find a legit home business- help yourself while the government helps you.

This is upsetting I am disabled and trying to work again.I am not asking for any handouts you do not make it easy for people to help us who are handicapped by asking for something most Americans can't even afford your lucky you get what you get let alone ask for something most people do not have.
You sound like you want everything handed to you.You should be grateful for the housing availible to us now and not ask for more. The world doesn't owe us a thing you should be ashamed you have hindered allot of disabled people with your greed

No one will give you a grant for something like that. Who told you such a thing? You can live in low income housing, that's what it's for. There's no "free money" out there to get a free house, the taxpayers are already paying enough for all these people to live in free apartments. The only people I know that get money for college, houses and other stuff are the people who live in Indian Reservations. And since we took all their land, I guess they deserve it.
