Every vote counts, regardless what the victim party would like you to believe. Educate yourself before you vote. Most people don't know what candidate that they are voting for stands for.

While it may not seem like it sometimes, everyone's vote counts and that includes the youth! Below are some pretty amazing facts about youth and their increased participation in the political process:

** 21 million Americans under the age of 30 voted in 2004, an increase of 4.6 million from the 2000 election

** Young voters turned out in record numbers in 2004.

** In 2006, young people (18 – 29) increased their turnout by 2 million voters over the last midterm election.

** In 2004 & 2006, young people increased their turnout by a rate greater than the overall population.

** In 2008, approximately four million 18-year-olds will be eligible to vote. That's JUST 18-year-olds, not ALL of the new voters!

** There are 42 million 18‐29 year olds eligible to vote in the U.S., one‐quarter of the entire electorate.

** Generation Y voters will be one-third of the electorate by 2015.

The ballots, electronic or paper, can't tell the age of the voter. The "youth vote" counts exactly the same as any other vote. Of course, if you don't vote, your vote NEVER counts.

The youth vote certainly counts but unfortunatly, the voter turnout amoung 18-25 is extremely low....

Explain to them how the next president can make changes in policy that will effect their lifestyle. For example, if Ron Paul became president, the youth will not have to fight senseless wars overseas, and therefore will save lots of lives of youth. If Ron Paul became President, the youth will have more freedom - they will have more privacy, more jobs, and more money because Ron Paul's economic policies will take away wasteful government spending and cut huge amounts of taxes. If Ron Paul becomes president, the youth will have better schools because Ron Paul will get rid of government control on education and wasteful and inefficient spending of tax dollars (which only fatten the bureaucrats). Etc. etc., etc.

Thank you for the question!

Yes, it counts if in fact they vote. Explain to them what a privilege it is to vote.

Every vote counts unless you're to stupid to run the machines.

Keep telling yourself it really matters, then after awhile, you'll start to believe it!
