Power does not corrupt someone's personality and character; rather, it *reveals* them.
A truly honest and mature person could handle "absolute power" because they do not thirst for it.
The people who long for power invariably misuse it.

Yeah, I'd say it's all con.
Corruption is never good.
But then, to avoid the corruption of power...you have to be powerless.
Which is also not good.
I guess it means you better keep an eye on your lawmakers--they might have good intentions going in, but the power will corrupt them despite their best efforts.
You can't just elect officials and let them do what they want. You gotta mind them after election day, too.

The pros are if your in power and your mental you might enjoy the abuse of power. The cons is everyone else not in power has to deal with the other side.
