I wish I could give you some hope, but their pitching just cannot stand the test of a playoff club. They will finish third in the Central while the Cubs will overtake the Brewers to win it.

Chow!!

I think the Cubs win the Central followed by the Brewers and then the Cardinals. The Cubs are healthy and on an absolute tear since May and both the Cards and Brewers lost their top pitcher (Sheets and Carpenter). Plus the Brewers bullpen has taken a nose dive, but if Linebrink, Turnbow, and Cordero are pitching well at the same time they have the best bullpen in baseball (they hope that Linebrink will help in the 7th/8th inning role). The Cards bulllpen also needs help around Jason Isringhousen. I don't see either getting on the same pace as the Cubs.

I think it's too late for them to win the Central.

Well, I watched them over the weekend b/c they were playing Mil. (Go Cubbies), I think if they get a few pitchers before the trade deadline they MIGHT have a chance to take the wild card. They have to stay as hot as they are now to do it though.
