Each and everyone of us changes everyday by what we learn and what we choose after we learn something new. I wasn't always as forgiving as I am today. And now I am more at peace with my life. With my past whatever happened to me. Hopefully one day more people can say that without the pain of bad memories. And learn how to forgive without causing more pain to others for their own actions.

Our actions do not define us. We define ourselves by way of our actions and the intent behind them. When we are motivated to take a particular action in a given situation that is a telling sign of our truest beliefs and feelings, which in turn illuminates the nature of our character. The things that we do are always a choice, which we do have control over.
If I were to do a simple act that caused harm to an individual, once might be a thoughtless mistake but repeatedly I would be revealing my intent to cause harm and further that I dislike the person that I am taking this action toward because I am continually making the effort to cause this harm to them. This would reveal me to be at the very least a not so nice individual. Even if I dislike some one I always have the choice just to ignore them which does them no harm.

They are now saying that we are not what we thing or what we have done, our memory, but that we have a memory and our mind has pictures and thoughts, we are only observers and pass of fail the output of the mind. In other words we are an awareness of the process and pass on what the mind will or will not think of or have our body do. The mind operates independently to find answers or we more usually limit it's operation by interfering in the process. So you are free to be whoever you want to be. We are generally programmed, mostly by others and society, from two or three years old, though, you have to understand emotions not to have all your decisions biased so completely as to get totally turned around by them. Study emotions and intuition to get back control of the emotions at least and what you study from now. The past doesn't exist and now makes the future. That seems roughly to be the best attitude to take.

Not entirely. Sometimes people do things that are out of character for them or because bad situations are thrown at them. So, our actions do not entirely determine who we are.

To me it means we are the direct result of our entire environment, both physical (location of where you were born and raised), and mental (what you have learned through life's lessons and formal education.) What more could you pssibly be?

Do you really think we're just the culmination of our actions at the point of death?
