No you do not lose the game if your queen gets out. The girl you played with sure sounds like a sore loser!! You must be a good chess player to beat her, even when she had your queen. Way to go! The only way you can lose a chess game is to lose your king, however the queen is the most important piece ( besides the king of course ) and the queen can move whichever way, ( you already know that ...lol) so keep that in mind the next time you play. Having the queen available will make your win easier! Good luck!

It is true that losing your queen is a bad thing and losing it may cause you to lose your game. The queen is the most powerful piece but to win the game isn't about keeping your queen or losing it. It's all about what happens in the end.
'Losing your queen' is not all bad because there is something called 'Queen Sacrifice'.
Queen Sacrifice - sacrificing you queen for a checkmate (something like that)
and the thing about losing your queen is, you'd want to make it even. If you're really determined to win and you're a really competitive person, losing your queen may even be an eye-opener...

You will most likely lose the game if they have taken your Queen first. Even with a sacrifice with a Castle, 9/10 times you will lose to someone who is better, just as, or basically as good as you. Also alot of Dumb answers here everyone knows what a checkmate is. I hate half *** Kindergarten Answers like this. You got to capture the king. No ****! He won! an the girl is not a sore loser she is just stating the obvious that he should of lost. I know this Question is 9 years ago, but i HAD to give my input an as far as i am concerned this is the Best Answer.

Certainly not. One of the most famous professional chess games ever played involved a stunning victory that was the result of a queen sacrifice. That game was played between Bobby Fischer and Robert Byrne. Fischer was 13 years old at the time.

Nope. Game only ends when the King has no more moves it can make, meaning if the King stays where it is or if it moves that any of those would leave it to die. King can only move one space in any direction per turn. The game is never over just because the queen was taken.

Ha! She is Soooooooooo wrong. Just because she gets your queen doesn't mean the game is over. Often a queen is sacrificed for a mate. To end a game you must capture the king. She is very wrong. Look it up anywhere. She just wanted to make you think she won.

no. the game only ends if:
either king is under check and the no piece can
block it
king cant move away
the checking piece cant be captured
or if the one side cant move without breaking rules when it is there turn and the king is not under check
if there are only two kings left
if the pieces arent strong enough to checkmate(1 bishop, 1 knight)
so... the girl was prolly just angry at herself for losing when u had lost yur queen.

It just proves you're a better chess player than her.The queen is the most powerful piece on the board and to win the game without it is overcoming a big handicap. The only thing that counted was "Checkmate".

Heck no That girl on your street doesnt know how to play chess, you loose when your king is in check in all directions and he can't move.... Maybe she meant that she thought it was going to be impossible for you to win without your queen but if she didnt mean that then she doesnt know how to play chess

Usually it is over bar the shouting if you lose your Queen but if she was rubbish then she's got no excuses. Also if you can see a certain checkmate by sacrificing the Queen then you go for it.
