Paint with your eyes closed!

Creativity isn't like the proverbial lightbulb, it doesn't just strike you on the head and fill you with inspiration. It takes work. Advice is kinda hard when I don't know exactly what you're trying to accomplish, but all I can tell you is to start with small steps, and keep working at it. If you want to be a painter, for instance, start by making drawings every day. Then move on to making small paintings in a sketchbook. Don't judge what you've done, just try to do a little bit every day. This discipline will eventually reward you with the skill of creativity.

Shut off your TV and your computer. Leave the comfort of your home. Go for a long drive or a walk and look at the world. Study it. Don't think about the problems in your personal universe. Be like a child seeing things for the first time. Go to the park and people-watch. Notice movement, color, shapes and sounds. Concentrate on your surroundings. Your muse will eventually find you. Natural mental stimulation brings creativity.

I don't think being creative is just by drawing something on a piece of paper, anyone could do that.I think being creative is something that starts in the mind.Being creative is like looking at something that's basic and saying 'How can i shape this into something new, something no one's ever seen before? How can I change this to look more beautiful? How can I change this to look more amazing then it already is?' It's all in your head, everyone though is already creative just by being different from everyone else,so in a way we kind of already are. We're not all robots (thank god.)

Personally am creative when i have a personal inspiration like my wife, daughter and family. That's where i draw my inspiration to be imaginative and creative. However, you must have the complete concentration to get a good creation. All the materials and available colors must also be at your hand. You must also be armed with patience and a relax mind to begin with.

Learn to quiet your mind.

Creativity comes, not from random thoughts, but from FOCUSED thought. The more focused, the greater, more extraordinary and more creative the possibilities that flow through.

To have ideas in a way that others don't have, and to contrive and so to concretely design things that so far haven't been created is the way to be creative.

While doing such things you are creative, and by doing such things frantically the whole time you become even more, ever more, creative.

Creativity is a skill. It can be formally learnt. Read Edward De Bono's books and practice the principles. They work.

That's hard, but an easy alternative is to find a parallelism between something fairly known and something not so well known. Check out examples of this in many areas on the link:

Watch all around you, listen then relax let your mind go to work.( You can come up with an idea others have just thought of, but you can make it happen.)
