You could go either way with that one -

** Up so the luck doesn't run out

** Down so the luck falls on people who walk underneath.

since I don't like everyone who walkes through MY doorway I'd probably personally hang it on a wall, end up.

Hmm-mm! The only "luck" I know of is *bad* luck! Was a "lucky rabbit's foot" lucky for the rabbit? Sure, some superstitions like walking under a ladder or breaking a mirror can cause misfortune like a person on the ladder spilling paint or dropping a tool on you, or getting a sliver of glass from the mirror in your bare foot or in your finger as long as seven years later if you haven't been extremely diligent about getting up every little shard!

At church men's meetings in past, where each man brought in a food dish for a commonly shared meal, some of us decided that, being a church group we should call the "potluck" meal, "pot providence", instead!

Hang it with the two "points" facing up, like a bowl. Hanging it the other way will cause all of the luck to pour out.

The ends point up. Curve towards the floor. That way the luck doesn't run out.

its nothing to do with which way up it is, the reason a horseshoe is deemed lucky, is in fact it isnt a horse shoe but a goat shoe from the hoof of satan. the story goes the devil was doing his rounds looking for souls to steal, when st peter caught him and nailed him to a door by his hoof. the devil pleaded with st peter to let him go, and st peter agreed on one condition, that he left his hoof on the door , and that any door that has a goats hoof nailed to cannot be entered by the devil. hope that helps

Beens there's no such thing as luck,I would throw the horse shoe away unless the horse could use it.
