I'm not familiar with many female Sci Fi characters, so if you know of one that would be relatively easy to rent or create the costume, please let me know. I can do sexy, but not too revealing, please!

Birthday party? How about your birthday suit? And since it's a Sci-fi party, when somebody points and giggles, you can say it's part of the costume. Then you zap them with your Ray gun.

I guess the obvious choice would be Princess Leia, with the cinnamon buns hairdo and all, but it would be cool if you went as Ripley from the "Alien" movies.

i would suggest renting a star trek uniform, a blue one, that means medical officer, and you could tell people you are a hot nurse
