Last November my partner and I moved out of the city with a pop. of 2.5 million people into a community of 10,000. On a canal with boats and open spaces. Needless to say the change was dramatic. We have a city about 30 minutes away that is about 30,000 where we can shop. We find the people are far more friendly. Shopping is a breeze without the crowds. Now you need to realize my partner and I are both in our fifties and were fed up with the crowds and traffic congestion in the city. There are no clubs or nightlife to talk about where we are. If you wish a quiet serene life the country is the place to be. Should we wish to go into the "Big" city it is only 1 hr. away.

I live in a tiney little town called Lott, Texas, population 700 people, somedays i like it, the peace and quiet and small setting, but some days i don't, everyone knows everyones bussiness, everyone gossips...we live in a 100 year old house, i thought i'd love it with the high ceilings and wooden floors, but all i've realized so far is the high ceilings bring high electric bills and the wood floors you have to sweep about 10 times a day.....but i'm just thankful i have a home.....God bless

I live in a suburb of Philadelphia and can't imagine living elsewhere. I get the best of both worlds- the city is a 40 minute train ride away (and I went to see Wicked yesterday there). While I also have lots of open space in my town. That coupled with a recent MAJOR renovation of my house makes me say: I LOVE WHERE I LIVE!! I hope that everyone can say that at some time in their lives.

It's OK - but I sometimes think that having lived in the same city my whole life (30 years), I would rather be somewhere else.
