when i'm listening to sports radio or watching espn they refer to pitchers abilities as stuff, why do they call it stuff exactly? i giggle everytime i hear them call it stuff lol.

'Stuff' in pitching means ball movement and change of pitches. A pitcher who has a variety of good pitches is said to have good stuff, as is a pitcher who has the nastiest curve or knuckleball, etc.

they arent really talking about his ability they are talking about the kind of pitches he can throw. all pitchers throw different "stuff". curveball, slider, knuckler, etc.

lol i have no idea but i know what you mean. Some of their slang is getting to be accepted as normal now, like "touch em' all" and "filthy."
