Yes, I do, but you have to be careful or you'll end up with a stripper name. Like Roxy Jade-no, Roxy-Aqua-uh-no.
but Roxanne Elizabeth
or Roxanne Marie or some other normal sounding name will tone down it's stripper-potential.
Read Don Quixote for a Roxanne from Literature.

When I think of names for little ones, I think first what it will be called for short. I think of Roxanne as an older person and Roxy as rough or harsh.

no cause it´s impossible to not think of the police song. So for me Roxanne, and Roxy even more so, sounds too much like a hooker.
by the way, is it really Don Quichotte and not Cyrano de Bergerac?

I think Roxy is very cute. Roxanne is an older name. Roxy is very modern! :)

Roxanne isn't my cup of tea. I'd just go for Roxy or something else.

I don't really like Roxanne...too old. But what about Rocsi? I think that's cuter than Roxy. Smae pronunciation with a different spelling.

No, because everyone will go:

ROOOOOXANNE! Don't put on the red light!!!!

I had a friend named Roxanne, and everyone she knew would always tease her using the old Police song. You have to think of these things before naming someone.

Why not just use the shortened form since that's what you are going to call her? My Mom hated the name that was "long" for my name so she used the name she would call me.
