The reason why I said Oprah because she does a lot of community service. Also, she is a respected and powerful woman. Not to long ago, she had a serial rapist on her show and within a couple of days the guy was captured.

Ben Affleck.
I've seen him on the Bill Maher show. The guy really knows the issues and has the looks and communication skills to be a great politician.
Edit: Jon Stewart LOL. The guy is too lazy. I've done the math based on his average minutes on the Daily Show. Like him or not, Stewart's talking, or involved in conversations only 65 hours a year. What a job...

Politicians and celebrities are very much the same profession.
Most celebrities are not famous for their ability to act.
Most politicians are not famous for their ability to legislate or govern.
It's the cult of personailty. We vote for people that have charisma, a clever line and a winning smile. How else did Reagan, Clinton, and AH-nold get elected?
Take your pick. Oprah would probably do a fine job as President. Shes a damn good business person.

There are a lot of celebrities that are involved in politics, that aren't involved for personal gain.
Ben Affleck
Bill Maher
Rosie O'donnell
The list goes on and on. I don't think that some celebrities should ever involve themselves in politics. If you have a financial interest, or gain in a public trading company ie.. Bill Gates, Oprah... you should donate and step back.
Lobbyist run our current Administration, we don't need anymore legislation for personal gain.

Geoge Clooney, because he has intelligence, charisma and because he is liberal, he is electable, he is very well respected in other nations for acting and charity. He could run right now and blow Hillary and Obama out of the water.

Clint Eastwood, he's a Libertarian. But he doesn't want to be in politics again.
"Butch & Sundance" (Newman/Redford) would be a good team, but neither would do it. Unfortunately, Newman won't be making anymore movies because his memory is failing, so that wouldn't be good. But I do admire his principles and integrity.

No celebrity should be running for office on the basis of his or her celebrity alone. If I had to choose one, it would be Jon Stewart. Oprah scares me.

Oprah? Why Oprah? She is not the one who is giving away all those BMW's and those 100,000 dollar trips to everyone attending her show. Its her sponsers. She is far from a humanitrian if thats why you think she would be a good politician, i'm not saying shes not nice and giving but she acts like she is the one that is giving away all these fabulous gifts. I'm sorry about ranting like this but that subject gets me upset. anyway i would have to say celebrity that is eviromently friendly like will ferrell or cameron diaz
