Hello:
There could be several reasons why your baby is spitting up constantly.
The baby's digestive system may take awhile to process the formula or breast milk especially if the baby was a preemie when it was born.
The baby may be suffering from acid reflux which may cause alot of spit up,and the baby may cry inconsolably too for long periods of time.
If the baby is on a specific formula that has milk based products in it,you may want to check with the baby's doctor about getting the baby on a soy based formula instead. When I nursed my daughter I would also give her supplement bottles of Similac and the first time she drank Similac she projectile vomited everywhere. As soon as we talked to the doctor that night on his cell-phone,he suggested that we try her on Isomil and it worked like a charm, she never got sick from that point on.
While it is common for some babies to spit up especially when they are breastfed or if they drink formula and eat too fast,a continuous problem with the baby spitting up needs to be addressed to the baby's doctor. If I were you,I would call your baby's doctor and it wouldn't hurt to have your baby examined by the doctor just to make sure that everything is ok.
Good luck and I hope that this has been helpful for you?

Babies bodies are totally new and just figuring out how to work. Some babies are regular spitters, some don't spit at all, and most are somewhere in between. As for spitting up in the night and choking, that's actually not very common. Babies have instinct to turn their heads and cough when they spit up - like the instinct to suck or cry, it's a survival instinct. That's why you should ALWAYS put your baby to sleep on her back. If she's on her tummy, she can't move herself out of the spit up and could choke on it then.
Just make sure you burp as well as you can, and if you're really worried about it, keep her upright for 20 minutes or so after each feeding. If she hasn't spit up by then, chances are she won't. Most babies outgrow spitting up around 4-6 months, when they're holding their head up better and sitting up.

Similac for Spit Up (light green label) has helped my daughter tremendously. It comes in ready-to-pour and powder only, but the powder blows. EDIT: You mention many formulas, but not this one. Don't know why some idiot gave me TD. My daughter was a projectiler and this formula basically stopped it. We also tried the Enfamil AR, which did nothing. If nothing works, you need to go back to your doctor. I've read it averages 6-8 months for severe spitting up to end, but often lasts up to a year. Never seen/heard anything about it tapering off near 4 months.

My daughter was sick in the night a few times no matter how well you burp them i found that she always moved her head to the side so it fell out of her mouth but as a parent you will always worry about them choking.Just make sure you have the baby monitor and he/she should be fine.

My wife faces this all day every day. Face it, babies spit up. That's why we have so many burp cloths. It is normal, and not something to worry about.

Not all babies "spit up constantly" -- in fact, my daughter (who is eight months old now) has probably spit up about three times in her life. Infants' digestive systems are not fully developed so it's hard for them to digest sometimes, which is why they spit up at times. As they get older, it won't happen as much.
