We Filipinos have what we call "baluut" (not sure of the spelling, though). To give the briefest (and vague - as to not gross anyone out) description, it is a duck egg. And it is eaten much like a hard boiled egg. And that's where the similarities end. Would I eat it again? I'm Filipina. Of course I will!!

I think the wierdest food that I've ever eaten was something called "vegemite". I spent some time in New Zealand and those folks eat it like we Americans eat peanut butter. It wasn't too bad but I can't say that I want it again. I'm not even sure that it can be found in the U.S.

So far no one has listed anything I would consider weird. I have eaten all of the other items listed as well as alligator, zebra, rattlesnake, buffalo, grasshoppers, ants, sushi, and cicadas. The only one I would consider even slightly wierd was the cicadas. But deep fried and then dipped in honey and cinamon sugar they sure were good.

O.k one time for an assignment when we were learning about different cultures, I ate 3 nacho flavored meal worms and 1 pizza flavored, 6 cricket legs, and 1 cricket body. I would definitly eat all them again except for the cricket body!

Boiled tripe, it's the lining from a sheep's stomach.
It's slippery & white with little spikes on it.
I wouldn't bother to try it again if I was starving.
Funnily enough, I love calimari, which looks similar.

Cow Tongue- I was at my gran's, I wanted a sandwich, there was cow tongue in the fridge in a container, I thought it was corned beef, I tasted some, it was revolting, so I said to my nan,
"Gran, I think this corned beef is off," she came and tasted some and said, "That's not corned beef, it's cow tongue" as if it was nothing.
I felt sick for ages afterwards, I'm very careful eating sandwiches at gran's now.

Doggie Donuts. They were donut shaped treats for dogs. I don't know, they smelled pretty good, like stale donuts so I eat one. Not too bad either. Would I eat one again. Hmmm....I think I just might. Are you offering?

Brussel Sprouts and no I won't touch it much less eat it every again unless I am starving to death in a desert somewhere. It hit my gag reflex anyway so I can't hold it down. It's absoulutely disgusting. I get sick looking at it.

once long ago i got an invite from a friend to Cook me dinner. he said he was going to cook me native food. i said ok. he said my roommates can stay for dinner and they did. when i ask Sam what we were eating, he pulled out his bag of Seal flippers. (from a real seal) I'm one of those people who's up for anything, so i said great. well Sam through the seal flippers in a pot of boiling water to warm them up and announced that they were done. all i can say is they tasted like oily rubber boots. needless to say they went in the fridge and none of my roommates wanted to try them again. eventually one of my roommates threw them out. a couple of weeks later Sam ask what happened to the seal flippers. i told him they had begun to smell and my roommate threw them out. Sam looks at me with this serious look and says "that's when their the best"
this is a true story and i never let Sam cook for me again.
