It's not just politics. I answered a legal question once and there were several people of the same opinion. But the asker took an answer that had less support than some of the others because it suited his purpose.
Funny thing is, by ignoring the answers that didn't match his opinion, he is opening himself up to being arrested.
Why ask indeed.

Im guilty of doing that. I always want to hear what other people have to say, I only get defensive though because someone either says dont know what Im talking about or that Im ignorant.
Some people just ask to see if what they think is what other people thing as well.

You're right.
People want to vent.
It's the land of broken toys.
Even with their crummy questions......the people with the health issues are more sincere.
I found out that, some people like rudeness, with polite words and you half way agree, they thank me???
And I wonder why?

Sorry, I've found myself doing just that.I ask the question then give my opinion! I guess it's a matter of getting your opinion across as a question.

It's good to see someone choose a best answer to an opinion that they didn't have to start with when asking a question! but that rarely happens!.

Well, you get exactly what you ask for when you step into the Politics category or the Religion & Spirituality category.

It is naive to think someone asks for anything other than stimulating debate in the politics section.
A quick glance at your questions shows you're one of us.

It's called Humane Nature. People want your opinion UNTIL, it varies from their beliefs. They didn't really have a question, they were fishing for assurance that they were right.

Because noone wants to ask a real question, they are just looking for self affirmation.

Yes, I have noticed that. I suspect they are not really asking a question, they are just taking advantage of this forum to mount their soap boxes. Probably to sway opinion.
