I like that...and I really needed to hear it too! Would you mind terribly if I claim those word for myself? I know I'm not the friend you are referring to...but it really hit home for me today...so thank you for the very wise advice!!! ;o)

I think your friend is in trouble and your words are not that wise.
Trust is the single most important aspect of building relationships we have as people, and when that trust is broken - it is lost. You can't just expect someone to start trusting others, just like that. That's not how it works and depending upon how deep that hurt goes, you shouldn't be telling your friend to trust everyone and "just be more carefull".

The wisest policy is to not trust at all. It's the safest solution to all life's problem but it'll be a cold and lonely route which disables individual growth. Even in a crowd full of people the population will always be one.

It was not a matter of trusting my partner's family. They hated and despised Gwenneth and myself and we were just happy if they left us alone.
If trust was involved, we would have trusted they would not have carried out that last act. I was overseas when Gwen died and they claimed her remains and buried them in their church's private cemetery under the words "UNKNOWN TO GOD".
I fought to have the wording changed or to have her reburied without success. Suicidal depression followed and it was only my brother's help that saved my life. I learned to forgive them and myself but trust is still a hard thing for me.

Not exactly wise.
More like common sense.
I've heard that so many times before.
And I don't like how the second line and the last line like contradict eachother..
The second line says to keep trusting
Yet the third line says to be careful who you trust.

I really believe that trust is given to a person based on your knowledge of that person. Don't trust so freely next time.

Trust is something that is earned. You should always give people a chance to be trusted, but they must earn it before you let your guard down.

The trusted ones have rallied around...I can feel the love and it is appreciated...The next time I choose a beau I think it will be by committee.
