Do you know the history of Al-Qaeda?

Question

Everyone knows (though a few dispute it) that Al-Qaeda attacked us on 9/11.
Many know that we are fighting them overseas.
Many know that Law Enforcement is taking them on here.
Do you know when OBL issued his first and when he issued his second declaration of war against us?
Do you know how AQ is organized?
Do you know how it has evolved since first set up in 1984?

Are you interested enough in knowing our enemy to actually take a look at a few of the details?

Viking, I would continue to invite you to contribute to my blog or create your own. Our citizens need to understand this enemy. I plan to pick up a copy of that book to further educate myself.

Yes, I know about Al Queda. I even listened to Bin Laden reading his fatwa declaring war on the U.S. and the crusader nations via BBC shortwave. I also know he drew a lot of inspiration from the writings of Ibn Abdul Wahab Najdi (the spiritual "father' of the Wahabi sect) and from Seyyid Qutb, one of the co-founders of the Muslim Brotherhood. I've been advising everyone I know to pick up a copy of Qutb's book "Milestones", now that is in English and out as a paperback.

did you americans know that the CIA gave the mudjaheden (who joined the taliban ) stinger anti aircraft rockets? The CIA trained and armed afghan warlord to fight the soviet soldiers in the 80's.
