The Braves are last in slug% and OB% at first base. This has to help but will it be enough?

I do think this really helps. And not only did they get Teixeira, but they got a left handed pitcher for their pen as well. .

They have three solid starters ( Smoltz, Hudson and James as of late) And Buddy Carlile (Sp I know) has been doing ok his last starts. If they can find a fifth starter, and get some good work out of their pen, I believe that they will contend for the World series.

He will give their lineup some sock, but not quite enough. The Braves have many over-the-hill players. I get the impression that this deal is a last shot for the gold.

there is no chance. The Braves need a bullpen before they are even considered contenders

They'll contend as usual. They'll fall short as usual, as well.
