no. the yankees will never trade him. there's a possiblity that he signs elsewhere at the end of the season, but he wouldn't be traded.

The Yankees won't trade him. If he opts out of his contract he might end up with the Cubs, but only if Mark Cuban is allowed to buy them. That's a lot of ifs. In response to the previous answer about the Cubs being set on the infield: you wouldn't give up Theriot, Fontenot, or DeRosa for that matter, for A-Rod. Not to mention - Theriot and DeRosa could and have both played right field. The other plays second, Fontenot rides the pine and A-Rod plays short. Not hard to make room for someone with a legit chance to be the best ever.

Yes, Rodriquez will be a Cub next year. His love affair with New York is fading like the Yankees playoff chances.
He has a big salary and the Cubs new owner will pay it to make a good impression on the fans. Lou Pinella used to manage Alex and they had a great relationship.
As for displacing Theriot or DeRosa, the Hall of Fame ballots may have to wait. Wrigley Field is a hitters park and the infield should be in great shape by next year.

Even though I am a devoted redsox fan, A-Rod is a future Hall Of Famer, he is about to hit his 500th homerun and will be the HR champ and all time home run leader before he retires, he will not be traded to the cubs for two reasons, he hates the NL and two the cubs dont got the money or the players for the trade if he goes anywheres it will be boston or back to texas

A-Rod isn't gonna be traded!
He has a no trade claus and that would just be stupid.
He's going to opt out of his contract at the end of the yea and maybe sign with the Cubs or Red Sox or maybe some others

No, you think they're going to give up one of there best players yeah right. but every body is talking about what a-rod is going to do cause of his contract. People are saying he might pick to be on a different team. I really hope not for the yankees.

If he doesn't stay as a Yankee rumors are that the favorites to get him are the Cubs Angels or Mets.
