I have hardwood floors and I need help cleaning them. I've spent hours on my hands and knees with the orange glo and hardwood cleaner fron linnens & things. with the orange glo I can't seem to get the foot prints off and it leaves the floor sticky but, the linnens & things brand leaves streaks like there's no tomorrow.

...please help me...

I use warm water with just a little bit of ordinary dishwashing liquid, like Palmolive. Make sure the mop is not too wet; the floor should dry quickly.

I agree that most of the "special" cleaners are streaky and cost too much.

1 cup vinegar to 1 gallon water. If you put more than that you will strip the coating right off. I put mine in a spray bottle and spray as I go with my terry cloth mop. That way I can stop and rinse my mop more often and I don't worry about getting too much on my floors. About once a month, I clean with a solution of 2TBSP murphy oil soap in a 32oz spray bottle and spray as I go again. This time though you will need to go bask over it for a rinse or you will have a little bit of slickness to your floor. I only do this to keep my floors conditioned.

Don't use orange glo...it's a wax and you don't need a wax on polyurethaned wood floors. I use either Pledge or Bruce wood floor cleaners with a bucket of cold water and a damp mop. I'm virtually streak free.

plain white vinegar and water. 50/50 solution. The vinegar will cut the dirt. Not too much on the sponge or sponge mop. It cleans the wood and is not sticky. Just make sure you don't leave too much solution lay on the floor when you've cleaned.

Have you tried Murphy's Soap? Works great for me.
