My family owns a sushi bar and we're trying to find good music to play in the background. Does anyone have any suggestions? What do you like to listen to?

Maybe play some traditional Japanese music.

When I eat at a chinese place I like to hear chinese music - it just makes the whole chinese experience more fun I think.

Whatever you do, don't play pop music or the radio. It might cheapen the whole mood of your place.

I seem to enjoy top music from the 80's and 90's when I'm in a restaurant. HOWEVER, if you own a sushi restaurant, it'd be best to intersperse nice ethnic Asian music with soft pop (SOFT pop is different from pop). I say that because sushi isn't necessarily considered a "family" meal. It's something that adults enjoy, since children would prefer hamburgers, hotdogs and pizza. Even those in college would appreciate that kind of music while dining on sushi. It would make it a more authentic experience. Good luck!

When I'm in a restaurant, I personally like to listen to any kind of soft music, Spanish music, and Italian music.

Cajun music, but, then again, that probably wouldn't work in a sushi bar.

classical music is for fancy restaraunts
country is for steak houses
the radio is for crappy restaraunts
oldish new-ish music is for restaraunts like chilis and apple bees
so umm it's kind of hard since i don't really like sushi... but i'd suggest you see what type of customers you have, old people, young people, and how they dress or act, so you can choose the music... but you should but like japanese or chinese music there, but not like hip hop japanese or anything like that, just like soft relaxed japanese music....

Soothing Japanese music would be nice. I like the music to fit the atmosphere --- Italian restaurants, Italian music; Indian restaurants, Indian music; etc.....
