Actually i cant undestand that how to do antilog operation on calculator or is tehre anyother way?
For example: [H3O+]= 10 (-7.3)pH
[H3O+]=5.01x10`-8 (-8 is the power) how they get that answer, i found this from books example.

pH = -log[H3O+], so

[H3O+] = 10^-(pH)

On your calculator, use the <10^x> function: plug in the value you have for pH, change the sign, then press <10^x>

For your example of pH = 6;

[H3O+] = 10^(-6) = 0.000001 moles/liter

For the textbook example with pH = 7.3;
[H3O+] = 10^(-7.3) = 5.01x10^-8, or 0.0000000501 moles/liter

I can understand how you could get confused with the powers of ten here -- the pH scale is logarithmic -- each change of 1 in the pH number is a ten-fold change in concentration -- and some folks have a hard time dealing with those sorts of numbers. Just remember that any pH value that is not an integer (such as 5.4, 7.3, 8.7, etc.) will be some value BETWEEN the integer part (5, 7, or 8 in the examples above) and the power of ten one step below that one!

pH = 5.0 means [H3O+] = 1.00x10^-5
pH = 5.4 means [H3O+] = 3.98x10^-6
pH = 6.0 means [H3O+] = 1.00x10^-6

I hope that helps!

Calculate H From Ph

Do you have a power function on your calculator (x^y)? [H+] = 10^(-pH). If you have such a key, press 10, then the power key, then - the pH value.

In your problem, since you have a simple integer as pH, you don't need a calculator: [H+] = 10^-6

log is against power.it means if you have 3^4 its log is log4 in base of 3. simple logs like log3 means they are on base of 10,so we dont write them. and if u have log6 it is opposit of 10^6.

pH is -log[H] so pH=6 means -log[H]=6
so [H] is 10^-6

i hope u get it,for more information consult a math teacher
