Many of the Farm Organizations would prefer a free market rather than the current farm programs. There is an old concept called parity which states that the farmers is getting about 30% of the relative price determined by the base period. Most USDA programs are cheap food programs.

I am almost positive if the prices for your food went up to double of what you are paying you would be screaming as well.

This bill was bi-partisan and signed into law by your president!

You don't mind running up a 3 1/2 TRILLION dollar in additional debt! or a 3/4 TRILLION dollar war, which isn't even included in the debt. Welfare for the rich!

Since the Bush administration and the GOP Congres spent the last 6-12 years gutting those social programs, we're long overdue for a restoration of some of those funds. Its certainly better than handing them over to Haliburton, etc. to kill people.

As for the subsidy cuts-those are targeted toward the large agribusiness operations, not small farmers. Which is what the payments to farmers are supposed to be for. Again, a much needed corrective.
