My laptop is wireless but my roommate does not have a wireless card in her laptop. Is there anyway that a router can support both her and my laptop without having to set up two seperate internet connections in the house? If so, what budget wireless/wired routers do you recommend? Thanks for any info!

Plenty of routers also have a 4 port RJ45 hub/switch. If you get one of these you will need a network card or a RJ45 port in her laptop and a cable.
There are also plenty of USB wifi adapters available.
If you get a wifi adapter and a router, it is best to get the same make for both. I'd recommend Netgear or Dlink

You will need 3 things. 1 internet connection, 1 wireless router and 1 network card for the other laptop. You can purchase the router and card together online or in many computer outlets.

I'd suggest getting a network card that is a usb connection. That way you are guaranteed that the card will work. Take a look at the combo packages that are out there for routers and wireless network cards.

The router is simple. It will work once you run the configuration. Be sure to make it secure (WEP key security).

My other laptop isn't wireless so i bought a wireless modem for the laptop, mine is netgear. I just had to pull the dialup modem out of the laptop and insert the wireless modem. I think the wireless modem was around 40 dollars but you can also get a wireless usb adaptor. I use that on my second pc.

Both the wireless routers I've used, LinkSys and Belkin, support wired connections, as well. I suggest the wireless off-the-shelf Belkin available at Wal-Mart. Good Luck.

I recommend Linksys WRT54G and a USB adapter for your roommate - WUSB54G I believe. Total cost about $100.
Available at Office Max and other stores.
