They sure do. My mom had 3 husbands and my brother and I had the names of her first husband. They kept asking us why our mom had a different last name and if we were adopted. Not fun

Yes I'm sure they do. But Life is full of stuff like that. The kids deserve the most understanding. And the mother may in fact be a very good person who has been screwed over a couple times. Ya never know.

Hey now. I have a cousin who has 2 children with 2 different dads and a third on the way with her new fiance. Her boys don't go through ANY embarrasment in school. They both have her last name and look like her.

Don't you feel a bit bad when you judge people like that without knowing them?

These days unmarried sex is the big thing, and so many people out there are pushing women into having sex, this kind of result should be expected. I keep reading these horror stories about how girls are treated, the boys are so pushy about sex they feel obliged to say yes. This is no good for our society.

I don't think women or the children should feel bad.
There are all sorts of scenarios that have a family of kids with different last names.

The people who should feel bad are those that are making a judgment call where it is not their business to judge.

There are plenty of divorcees, widows, widowers, adopted children, stepchildren, children born out of wedlock, and all kinds of circumstances that bring families together. The fact that they have different last names should be of very little concern.

We should spend our time concentrating on loving people, not judging them for things that are none of our concern, nor should they be.

"Judge not, lest you be judged."
