This is from Fodor's. I have been there, it is good (and pretty inexpensive): Boulevard Diner Southern, $7 to $16, Mount Pleasant There are no frills at this counter-and-booth diner where the service is attentive and the food soulfully prepared. Among the winners: the daily variety of homemade veggies, the fried eggplant-and-blue-cheese sandwich, and the Cajun meat loaf and chili. You can also eat breakfast at the Boulevard. MC, V. Closed Sun. Address: 409 W. Coleman Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC, USA Phone: 843/216-2611

I would recommend Magnolia's and SNOB (slightly north of broad) for very nice meals. The Charleston Renaissance Hotel also has a restaurant called the Brasserie Des Amies, and will also suit for a nice meal. Hyman's is a great place for a casual meal.

The Peninsula Grill is extraordinary.
Hanks' is great seafood.
Magnolia's for Shrimp & Grits
Slightly North of Broad for new American cuisine
The Wreck of the Richard and Charlene for shrimp.

Email me if you have any questions. I'm a SC native and full of opinions about this lovely city.
