Thoughts with the most volume can be intimated only. To "hide in plain sight" is the most effective way of speaking in public.
What we can say about the truth is restricted by the audience. An audience of scholars...the patrons at the opera...the partisan crowd attending a political rally. Does the complete truth render to these? No. Something of it must be held back.
Now the form becomes content with the thinker, even with strangers, friends, family. In every situation, to everyone the thinker speaks in the same way about the same topics. Nothing and everything is hidden, the private quest carried out in the open, in the public light of the midday sun, in flagrant disregard for self-interest.
To the other answers you have received here, Kimberly, I hope mine is the alternative.

Kimberly,
this is really situationally based. Each person and situation will have a different take than others in the same setting, discussing the same topics.
Work I will provide insight when asked or where warranted; however, politically the reality is that even when information is being sought I know instinctively who wants to provide the answer - and usually that is based on "rank".
I hope this provides a link to the other answers you have received here - and you received some good ones.
Take Care!

Normally yes it is. I heard a saying once that if you argue with an idiot long enough it is hard to tell which is the idiot. The key I think would be to know your environment. Many situations people just talk to be heard and nothing more, sharing thoughts with then would be a waste of time.

I wish I could remember the exact quote, "Give every man thy ear, but few thy voice." Shakespeare? There's a lot of wisdom in it. I don't think it's so much being a "target" (as in your question), but to volunteer EVERYTHING you think can easily confuse logical discourse. & while you're talking, much of the time the other person is thinking of what they're going to say when you fianly stop--not really listening. Being concise, & keeping focus with a mutual exchange is always best.

Yeah.I think I agree. I do have experiences of some places where some people including me just want our presence to be felt and get out of it; though we know a lot than the others; We feel its better to show and talk less;cause there are some people who are just waiting to catch somebody say something; and make them a target and make them miserable.

Sometimes it's better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it.
