It used to be a just a number to me and I suppose it still is... but I do not like what age is doing to me.. I feel young and think I should look the same as I did 20 years ago, but then reality hits me in the face and I hate the number that I am.

I don't mind ageing, as the longer you live the more you get to experience and learn, but I do mind the effects it has physically. It is a slow process of decay until we are snuffed out, snatching any beauty we possessed in our youth cruelly away from us. Jes' I am a merry soul tonight...not! :)...and you would think I was really old the way I am talking I am just 28...if I am this neurotic about the ageing process now what will I be like when it really has taken it's tole!

Age is an illusion. It's all in the mind. It is just a number. I've seen old codgers that can run rings round guys 40 years younger.

age is more than a number to me.
it helps me understand people...When I read answers on here a lot of the time I'll think that person is really young so I'll check and be correct. Sometimes younger people say really dumb things...and it's expected.

Prior to turning 40, I could keep my weight was a constant 9 stone 7 pounds. Once I'd turned 40 though, it shot up by one stone. I've lost a bit of weight since but it's much harder to keep it down. Therefore age is significant.

Age is irrelevant... I never feared any age reached... in fact... I always speak about the age I'm due to reach... such as right now... I'm sixty-two... rising sixty-three next birthday... and I hit thirty without a worry... which by the way... I consider to be the perfect age for everyone to be... forty never worried me... fifty either... and as for sixty... I'm the only sixty plusser that I know who never bothered to get a free bus pass... mainly because I drive anyway... but... all my driver friends... rushed out to get their passes as soon as they hit sixty... I couldn't be bothered.
Age is merely a number... meaningless... we learn and grow in many ways... but our initial 'values' from around age fifteen... seldom ever change that much.
Intend to grow old gracefully... eagerly... and with humour... which is why I'm faster on my feet even with arthritis... than most people that I know of my age... and half my age.
It's all in the mind... think positive and stay young at heart and in touch with the world around you... I greatly admire an old lady nearby of eighty-four... she walks everywhere... does everything for herself and runs an over sixties club that affords members outings everywhere... and... she has all her marbles firmly in the present;-)
Mum of six... gran of twice as many... great-gran of another six... and counting... but not the years:-)
