So many motorcycles, so little time and space to write.................
Kawasaki ZX-14 (Hubby had such fun riding this the other day)
Hyabusa 1300 (2008 model)
Yamaha FZ1S
Triumph 995i
Honda CBR1100XX Blackbird
These are only in my dreams!
But in reality, Hyosung GT650SL or Suzuki GSXF650 or maybe a Yamaha FZ6S (haven't decided really because I'm still trying to figure out what I like the best, so for now I will stick to my little Honda CB250 Nighthawk.
Anything that when I gave it a test ride, felt smooth comfortable and I hopped off Grinning like a Cheshire Cat!

It is hard to answer the question without knowing more about you and experience. But for my money I have always liked the FXD's. They are the best handling bikes they make and I think some of the best looking bikes they make too. I have been riding an FXD for a long time and will continue too. They are a smaller frame bike but that is my taste in bikes. I know the soft tails are more popular but they do not ride nearly as well as an FXD. The dressers are great bikes too but then you are getting into a whole different kind of riding. This really all comes down to your taste and what you enjoy. There are many great bikes out there so do you research and go out and spend a weekend or two and rent a few different kinds of Harley's then pick what fits you best. Good luck and enjoy.

I don't want a Harley but am lucky enough to own what I do want - Ducati. Italian style, handling, charisma, passion, performance and just brilliant all round.
By the way I have nothing against Harleys before I start getting the thumbs down from folks - they are just not my style but as a true biker I love anything with an engine and two wheels.

A Yamaha Roadstar 1700. They are much more reliable and cheaper than a Harley. If you're worried about level of performance then don't worry. The Harleys generally have a 45 degree, twin cam, push-rod engine, which is very strong, the Roadstar has a 48 degree, twin cam, push-rod engine, and still has great, if not better, performance (and the two sound identical if the Roadstar is fitted with a set of aftermarket pipes). The Roadstar also has tons of aftermarket accessories, if not more than a Harley. Another thing you don't have to worry about with the Yamaha is the reliability. I'm not trying to shoot down Harley, but I have seen several on the side of the road, but have never heard of a Yamaha or any Jap. bike on the side of the road except for maybe a nail in the tire or out of gas. And in my personal opinion the Roadstar is a prettier bike too. I hope this helped you out in any way!

I buy only crotch rockets. I like to go 120 through the streets, a Harley couldn't do that. Harley isn't the only bikes with culture. Me and my friends share some Mountain Dews, then put on our matching helmets and jackets, then see who can die first. It's soo much fun!!

Honda Goldwing. Half the price of a full dressed Harley, more comfortable ride and how about 150,000 miles before even thinking about a major repair. Go ahead and call it a Jap bike but, they are being built in Marysville Ohio. Check out the labor cost per hour at a Harley dealership. About 10 to 15 dollars an hour higher than a Honda shop.

BMW, because they wont be obsolete next friday, and still make twins that feel like motorcycles you can ride while sitting up like a man & shifting occasionally , instead of like a monkey trying to hide a watermelon while shaking a nest of fire ants off its left foot.

Problem is Harleys are all about the image and the culture, and not at all about performance, handling, value, quality, or actual riding. Motorcycles can be a fun, fast, comfortable way to get somewhere. It's not about showing off.

My self I liked the Kawa Vulcan 900 Custom so I bought one. I still like it over anything else! Of course there are better bikes out there but this is what I like so who cares about traditions, cultures and so on and so on. Kawa makes me happy so I'm sticking to it!
The way I see it is... technology, reliable, design and value! Money is not a problem at all is just that that's what I like and end of story!
I know that Kawasaki makes a 2000cc, Honda a 1800cc, Yamaha a 1800cc and so on and so on but again they are not my type of bike. I kinda like the Honda VTX 1800 F and the Suzuki M109R! But still like the way mine looks better!
