pH is actually the negative log of H+ cooncentration. Just work out the - antilog of the pHs and you'll get the concentration of both acids (pH 3 and pH 5). You will then be able to determine how much more acidic the pH 3 one is.

The lower the pH the higher the acidity. Your stomach acid is about a 2 or 3. If for some reason (I've seen this in the medical field) there is a wound on your stomach and some of your gastric juices gets on your skin it will eat away at it, kinda like a acid burn.

pH is the negative logarithm of the hydrogen ion concentration and thus a pH of 3 represents a 100 fold increase in the concentration of the hydrogen ions compared to a pH of 5. Log 2 is 100 (10 ^2).

It depends on what substance at pH 7.0 you add. Some chemicals are called buffers and will strongly change the pH towards neutral so they would be more alkaline than pH 5.0 but would not go over pH 7.0 so they would not really be alkaline but only alkaline relative to the original pH of 5.0. Other buffers would have little efffects other than dilution as you suggest.

100 times.

Every full number step on the pH scale is 10 times more acidic than the number above it.

So 4 is 10x more acidic than 5.

5 is 10000 times more acidic than 9.

it is very acidic. when the pH is less than seven, then it will always be very acidic. so a pH of 3 is more acidic than a pH of 5
