It is said God sees when even a small sparrow falls. What do you think he feels about animal cruelty? Here in the US, we don't eat dogs. They have evolved to be a big part of our culture. Dogs are trained to help the blind, deaf, handicapped, etc.

If you think about it, if someone is cruel to an animal, what are the chances that they are also being cruel to their children? Maybe if someone had been observant and checked on these people that kill their children, they may have seen a pattern and called Social Services. A pet group that I belonged to got several people turned into Social Services because of what they saw when they went to homes where people wanted to adopt a dog. What they saw was enough of a concern that they called Social Services and got these people investigated and their children taken out of harms way.

Lovesponge - I do not understand people like you. You really think this man did nothing wrong? Nothing at all? You said a child molester was sent free. That means he was in jail at one time to be set free. This Vick d i c k will serve some time and pay a fine. I bet that's all. Unless he is dealt prophetic justice by the inmates, hopefully.

People with your train of thought are part of the problem in this country. Also, if you think Americans are strange, why are you here?

Way to go jen.

It may seem strange on the surface, but you do have to look a bit more closely than that. First, most people who want to imprison someone like Michael Vick would also want to do the same for abandonment of children. It's not that Americans hold two opposing views in the same "mind", so to speak. It's that Americans have a variety of different views. As for "second chances", well, this country was founded on the notion of "second chances" -- whether it be for religious reasons, business reasons, etc. So, for us, allowing for second chances is imprinted deep in our political, economic and moral DNA.

since when do we let child molesters walk free? they serve their time as do all how get caught in a crime (well except paris hilton and the other celebrities out there on cloud 9). Point being - everyone is punished for their crimes in this country it just happens to be that the news story of the week is dog fighting. In this country we love animals and believe that all of God's creatures are important. if you dont like that go back to whatever hole u crawled out of. In China they eat dogs fine idont agree with it but fine that is their choice but over here we dont believe in cruelty to animals

we have dogs cats etc. as pets not on our menu. these pets are a part of our family. and if you abandon your child or are a child molestor you dont walk free you will do your time, just as who i think your talking about will do his time also. i personally think if you hurt or kill an animal you know the law in america before you do the crime, so therefore whatever law is broken you should do time.its not just a dog, its a creature of god, being killed for no other reason but stupid bets

the justice system in america is a joke. celebrities get 3 days in jail for their second DUI but 'normal' people go for 3 months. rapists are back on the streets in just a few years and even murderers get out of jail for 'good behavior' which is completely ridiculous! what ever happened to chopping theives hands off, stoning rapists, and quartering murderers??? bring back capital punishment!

Why don't you explain yourself and, what your meaning is. Who is abandoning their children, where have you been hearing all this from?
Let me guess, your country has asked us for aid again and we told them "No"
Let me hear you explain what you mean.

You haven't been paying attention--we don't want him in prison for killing dogs, we want him fed alive to the dogs.
