Why do people still buy it when it has 30% failure rate it just piss me off that some of my friends are willing to buy 3 xbox 360s because 3 of them broke on them yet they hate ps3 even though its a much better console and reliable.

Xbox 360 failure rate is over rated. I have 4 friends, each of them is still on there first 360.

Both consoles are great machines. I don't have a PS3 yet, because I just don't have the time and money to buy one. But I plan on getting. one.

lol whatever. i kno im buyin an xbox 360, one of the main reasons is microsoft paid rockstar either 50 grand or 50 mil, to have exclusive downloads for gta 4 only for the 360. i will not play gta 4 on ps3. plus some people are just fans of microsoft. ive played ps2 b4 i did the xbox. i switched to the xbox, and i was amazed. maybe the graphics where not that great, but it was way more durable then the ps2, no memory card, plus loading time was like a nintendo 64, there was none. that made me a fan of the xbox.

if you remember, the ps2 had alot of problems, while the xbox would still play even if you dropped it a bunch of times. however people still bought 2 or 3 ps2, only because thats what they liked. thats what you're seeing with the xbox 360

Combination of 2 things for me.
1. Price
2. Content

Eventually the PS3 may catch up to the 360 in the content department. The fact remains it has not been out long enough to have many good titles available. And of course Halo 3 comes out in Sept too.

first off... ive had mine for over a year now and nothing is wrong with it. secondly the ps3 is weak. bottom line on why... online gaming!!!!!!!!! the world is about online gaming and sony DOES NOT take care of their servers perfect example is socom. people are STILL waitting for the second map pack. when rainbow 6 vegas for the 360 has already had 2 map pack releases. ghost recon advance warfightter 2 has already had one. gears of war has also two. nhl 07 for the ps2 is still using october rosters while on the 360 it is using the rosters as of the trade deadline... this is why...

I think you may be exaggerating a bit, or your friends aren't taking advantage of their warranties.
And, the fact that they are willing to do that should tell you that when they are up & running they are amazing. I'm on my second (replaced free) and I don't regret buying it at all.
Go back to the PS3 questions, Fanboy.

Why don't they just send them in to MS to get fixed? The warranty is 3 years. I just had my 360 die and replaced under warranty and I had it for almost three years.

30% failure I thought it was much higher to be honest, least theres a 3 year warranty now.
